Thousands of people in Switzerland have "forgotten" BVG assets. Finding and repatriating these assets to a vested benefits account is essential to prevent large sums from going unused, which could have an impact on future pension payments.

What is a vested benefit credit?

A vested benefits corresponds to the amount accumulated as part of your occupational pension plan (2nd pillar) during your working life. These assets represent your savings and form the basis of your retirement and risk benefits.

What do I do with my assets once they've been recovered?

Once your BVG/LPP assets have been recovered, you have several options depending on your professional situation and your plans:

Transfer to a new pension fund

If you change employer or return to work, you must transfer your assets to your new employer's pension fund. This allows you to continue building up your retirement savings in an active plan.

Maintaining a vested benefits account
